People
Friendly Design is currently working as part of the design team on
Salford Media City which will be the site of a new BBC centre. The
team includes Wilkinson Eyre, Chapman Taylor, Gillespies, The Fairhurst
Design Group, Jacobs and Gleeds. |
Belfast
City Centre Redevelopment |
This
ongoing project with EDAW to redevelop Belfast City Centre began with
giving advice on the masterplan and continues with the development
of the detail of the first phases of the scheme. People Friendly Design
is giving advice on the design to integrate the needs of disabled
people into the development and is assisting with the involvement
of local disability groups in the design process. |
People
Friendly Design is working with West 8 to integrate the needs of disabled
people into their landscape design for Jubilee Gardens. |
Other project experience within the practice includes the following: |
- Brighton
Marina
- advising Wilkinson Eyre on access issues, including Lifetime
Homes on the development over Spending Beach in Brighton and producing
an Access Statement to support the planning application for the
residential development.
- London
Olympics 2012 -
providing advice to the EDAW led team on the wider spatial issues
which can impact on disabled people and developing an access statement
to support the planning application for the Olympic precinct and
legacy development.
- North
Bentford Quarter - working with Assael Architects on
Barratt's mixed use development on a brownfield site to the West
of London. This included a design appraisal, advice and the production
of an Access Statement to support the planning application.
- New
Wembley - Access advice on the Richard Rodgers masterplan
for New Wembley, including the pedestrian connections to the Wembley
Stadium and Wembley Arena plus detailed design advice on Arena
Square. This included producing an Access Statement to support
the planning application for the scheme.
